Each New Year in Japan, my friend carves a fresh hanga - a hand-cut woodblock print for her nengajo, the traditional cards sent to friends and family. Every design is personal, fleeting, and beautiful.
This print, made for 2023, shows Nozomi’s daughter, Hanna-chan, in kimono. Instead of just pinning it to the office wall, it felt like one worth sharing.
With her blessing (and her scan of the original), the artwork now lives on as the first Jokes Aside tee.
The Nozomi Tee is made to last: clean cut, soft cotton, and a print that carries the spirit of the original.
